Description

STEAM NEXT STEP aims to establish a pan European STEAM academy for pre-service and in-service teachers, and school heads, focusing on equipping and/or upskilling them with the competences required to utilise STEAM approaches effectively within the educational context, as well as part of their professional engagement. The STEAM NEXT STEP project aspires to ensure that every teacher, regardless of their subject area or experience, can contribute to and benefit from Europe’s education transformation. It envisions to equip teachers with the tools, knowledge, and competences required to integrate STEAM approaches effectively in
education, ensuring inclusive and equitable educational practices that respect and uphold EU values, and transforming teaching and learning, making it more engaging, interactive, and tailored to the needs of the communities.

STEAM NEXT STEP will improve teacher education by creating and strengthening networks and communities of practice. Mobility actions (including virtual, physical, and blended) and networking events will facilitate experience sharing, best practices exchange, and community building, supporting teachers’ professional development and enhancing the European dimension of teacher education through collaborative efforts with
teachers from partner countries and beyond. Embracing EC’s STEM Education Strategic Plan, UNESCO’s four pillars of education (learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, and learning to be) as well as the “Curricular priorities for educational futures”, STEAM NEXT STEP project aims to fortify its position in leading STEAM integration in education on a global scale, serving as a global laboratory of ideas, setting standards, advising on policies, and building capacities.
