Description
ACT4FOOD aims to enhance cybersecurity resilience across the food supply chain, by developing state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies, secure data-sharing frameworks, and advanced risk assessment models. The project will implement an AI-powered cybersecurity system to enable threat detection, anomaly monitoring, intrusion prevention, and incident response for Industrial Control Systems (ICS), IoT networks, and supply chain operations. A blockchain-based Information Exchange Platform (IEP) will ensure secure and tamper-proof information sharing while integrating privacy-preserving techniques such as anonymization and secure aggregation. Additionally, a Cyber Threat Intelligence (CTI) feed will extend the Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) to include cybersecurity threats, enabling coordinated industry-wide responses. A key innovation of ACT4FOOD is TACCP 4.0, an advanced Threat Assessment and Critical Control Points (TACCP) framework that integrates AI-driven risk ranking, cyber-physical threat detection, and food defense strategies.
This framework will address ransomware, IoT vulnerabilities, industrial sabotage, and supply chain fraud, ensuring regulatory alignment. To ensure practical validation and real-world impact, ACT4FOOD will deploy its solutions in three key use cases representing different stages of the food supply chain: aquaculture (producers), dairy (manufacturers), and retail (distributors and supermarkets), supporting widespread industry adoption.
ACT4FOOD will enhance Europe’s food cybersecurity landscape, ensuring safer, more resilient, and transparent food supply chains while positioning the EU as a leader in food cybersecurity and digital trust.
